Didn't you post before over here? :/
http://soft.com.sg/forum/all-about-singing/64634-how-sing-high-pitch.html

I have to remind you something; learning how to sing isn't like learning how to play guitar. It's not that straightforward, because the mechanism isn't a physical item we can just press with a finger and hear the note in its perfect pitch.

Us softies can only offer tips and guidelines to follow, but we can't tell if you're doing it correctly or incorrectly when you try sing them out (cos we're not there to hear it).

That's the reason why it's important to get a vocal coach that could be there to correct your mistakes and give you different ways to overcome your vocal obstacles while singing, so that you know and won't repeat the problem..

Some people are content with self-taught tips as they have been aware of their vocal issues and learning how to apply the tips correctly to fix the voice.. however if you're stuck in a rut here and still have no idea what we're talking about, I would suggest a vocal coach to get you kickstarted :P Just at least, to understand how to sing with the diap and you can explore from there...

It's actually one of the reasons why I started the vocal hangouts, so that people can try the tips right there and then and the advisor could tell whether you're doing it correctly or not..

Wanna come for the vocal hangout? :P

Based on my experience, I recommend getting training. Some people can naturally find their higher ranges, but all I did was strain my voice when I tried. I hate to think of all the years I wasted trying to sing high before I finally got some professional help.

Little bits of advice like "sing from the diaphragm" will do nothing for you without an expert there to guide you.

Edit: Snap!

i agree with sage n btherl bout getting a singing coach. i am currently having lessons at FANG ZHONG HUA MUSIC SPECIALISTS music school so i can answer some of your questions.

firstly, singing DOES involve using the diaphragm as what my vocal coach says. nasal voices sound lyk britney spears' singing.dat is nasal voice,de voice dat u sing without vocal training.u wudn't wanna sound lyk her.if u sing wif ur diaphragm, de sound wud b powerful lyk an amplifier.mi tcher demonstrated to me how the diaphragm voice sounded lyk n i had this ringing in my ears for hrs after my lesson cos it was LOUD,VERY LOUD!!!!!!!!:D(he was using de mic)

secondly, about getting a coach. if u can find someone who has gone to a music sch n has roughly picked up the techniques of his or her music tcher,u can ask them for help. if u r cashstrapped at the moment, trust me, u wont have enuf to pay for ur vocal classes. a grp class costs bout $188 but individual lessons are even more expensive, around $298-$338 depending if u wanna have the principal of the vocal sch teach u personally(which is beta cos de attention's all on u).i checked the website of de LWS(Lee Wei Song)Music Sch n i found out u had to pay $500+ for their grp courses.ur vocal class fees depends on how famous the sch or the tchers r.

lastly, singing high notes is easy if u noe de technique. try to think of de time u yelled at someone.was it VERY POWERFUL???was it VERY HIGH??? if u say yes to both,CONGRATULATIONS!!! y did i say dat??? cos singing high notes is like yelling, full of power and energy. if u noe howta yell, u bet u can sing high notes. its dat simple!!!!!! we use our yelling voice to sing high notes.don believe me??? TRY IT!!! u can sing leona lewis' bleedin' love in minutes!!!

P.S: improve ur pronounciation of ur words 1st before attempting to sing high notes. u have to "lock" ur jaws in de rite position to sing high notes like ur AH YEE WU EH ORH.jus msg mi if u gt unsolved singing qns!!!i'd love ta help!!!

well if you are interested in learning about the basics of singing you can sign up for a crash course @ Music Garage. The instructors at Music Garage are very helpful and can get their point across effectively.

group vocal classes at LWSSOM is actually $200+ not $500+.
probably you meant the individual vocal classes.
