Help: Les Paul

Hey softies!

Im looking for a good les paul
shaped guitar. Whats good out
there besides Gibson's? Budget
around $800.

Seen these brands:
Epiphone Les Paul Custom
ESP LTD ec256/ec401(emg)
Rally les paul(dunno model)

Rally and LTD ones kinda defeat
the purpose of having a les paul
cuz it comes with emg's. But the
EC-256 dont have emg and its
kinda cool with 'Aged finish'!

Any opinions?

There's this awesome Tokai Les Paul on sale at Sound Alchemy now, equipped with EMGs, just swap those out and sell them and you have a really great Les Paul! Coil tap on both bridge and neck.

You might wanna check out the swing les pauls as well.

2nd hand Orville or Greco Les Pauls fall in this price range as well

Checked the Swing LP. Quite nice.
Few classic colors to choose. Btw,
besides Les Paul i kinda like the
fender tele... Burny? Below $800?

Rally's GL-300 has passives in there:

and models:
LTD ec-256
Swing Classic ii
Rally les pauls
Fender Telecaster Blacktop HH

I second that. After all, I own one of the Tokais now, thanks to the softies.

I think the Tokai Les Paul J.Custom was talking about is the sunburst finish model (dunno how to describe the colour, somewhere around there), selling for $630. Should be the LoveRock ALS series. EMG-HZs on both bridge and neck.

Go have a try at it, and since Sound Alchemy has Epiphones too, you could compare them on the spot and figure out the difference.
