I bought a premier set like a 1yrs+ ago and i also bought this vic firth mute padd thingy which is for my drumset to mute the toms, snare, cymbal and bass drum. so for the 1yrs+ i having been playing with the bass drums pad on and now that its gonna be spoiled i took it out and start playing without the bass pad the feeling is very different and i use to tighten my pedal spring very tight and due to this situation i had to loosen it alot alot alot and try playing it and it felt like my skills are like from the first day i played my drums. so can someone pls help mi with this situation asap?pls:D

I think the problem you have is you have been playing on pad for too long and you have got too used to the pad rebound. what make playing acoustic drum exciting is the dynamic you get get out of them, so go ahead to experiment with different pedal tension and tuning

Adjust to it man, it's the best way.

The more surfaces and rebounds you experience the more your body knows how to react to them. Treat it as a learning experience.

Keep drumming!

That is why we can't practice mainly on pads, sometime have to take back to the real arcoustic set. Even electronic drummers go jamming now and then to avoid this strange feeling. Try practicing again, it shouldn't take long to get used to it since U got the skills already. =) Be impatient and U will get what U want.
