I'm looking for a full solid top acoustic with preamp. Any recommendations? I know SVguitars has their own "brand" EST with a $380 guitar w/ gig bag that fulfills the requirement. But i didnt really like the sound.. Yes, it sounded rather full but it was a little muddy.. I'm looking around the price range of $400~ (plus/minus $50 max).. Any recommendations fellow softies? Your help is greatly appreciated :D FYI i kinda prefer bright sounding guitars..

Check out the custom acoustics at city music too. i think for a solid spruce top guitar with a preamp you might be able to get something below or around 400. Their guitars are maintained well and have very low action and great playability in my opinion. Acoustically they are very good for the price. Check it out! Also checkout tanglewood guitars at tymusic, also a brand that you probably can get a good solid top with onboard preamps for about 400. Tanglewood guitars also have great playability and great sounds

Hmm i was a little apprehensive about the custom acoustic since it doesnt really have a renowned brand name but in your opinion would you get the tanglewood or custom acoustics? Thanks for the help man!

Both have great models of guitar which could suit your needs. I think that custom has a wider range of choices but personally i went for the tanglewood evolution dreadnought (solid cedar top) which had that very warm and mellow sound, which i think is not what you are looking for right haha you could probably get something closer to what you seek in tone in a solid spruce top, maple sides kinda configuration.

Good luck !
