Greetings fellow rockers...

Aite im new to the guitar scene currently only got one normal fina acoustic guitar..

Right now im thinking of getting an electric (basic model cause im still learning though) budget $180-200ish?

Err my guitar skill level = cannot make it lol.. did a few random song cover on youtube.

BTW! at hardwarezone.com there's this guy selling 2nd hand Washburn RX10 red for $200.. worth it?

Regards

I guess you could go for a Squier Bullet Strat new with that budget... But you still need to spend on an amplifier.

There are also plenty of second-hands selling in the adds that goes with your budget.

I still remember that I insisted on my first electric to be a double humbucker les paul copy, knowing what I wanted, I bought it. If you don't know what you're looking for exactly, then any guitar, be it a strat, les paul or tele copy, will do... I guess. Or I can advice you to take time choosing your first electric, spend as much time as you need in a guitar shop till you find something that suits.

and to sidetrack a little, assuming you don't have a practice amplifier yet, it is good to get one that can cover a big range of sounds and effects without being expensive, such as roland microcube and vox mini 3...

so you won't need to spend on pedals just for practicing, or practice without feel (imagine playing smell like teen spirit without distortion @@)

do check out sv guitars (swing/smash guitars) and city music (craftsman guitars) since they should fall within your budget

Timbre SR200 from Mike @ SV Guitars is also a good choice. If i recall, it was $250 in a starter pack (bag, strap, amp, cable, picks). But that was awhile back, not sure if he still carries the starter pack. But for the money, i'd say the Timbre beats any other starter guitar hands down. Tonewise, versatility, build quality (its MIC, though that shouldn't be a factor in your decision), customer service from Mike (pre and post-sales), i can't see any other starter guitar that comes close. The only thing that Craftsman guitar packages have over the Timbres (they're pretty good in their own right, but i feel the Timbre sounds much better stock) is that the amp in the starter package is much better. Line 6 amps are good stuff, and you could potentially explore more genres with that package.
