Heavy-neck guitar

I play a LTD Viper-50 and it has a really heavy body. The problem is, when I wear it on a guitar strap, its neck tends to dive downwards and make it uncomfortable to play.

What suggestions do you guys have for dealing with this problem?

Tks.

Ah, from what i know, you can choose to relocate your strap button, or use a nice leather strap to reduce the effect of neck diving..

How do you relocate ur strap button?? :o (Strap button means the place where u hook the ends of the guitar strap right?) Do I have to redrill another hole?

alternatively you couldnt bundle something really heavy and throw it into the cavity where all your pots and stuff are to balance out the weight.

I relocated my strap button. But my guitars upper horn has turned partially ugly la..but what the heck..nobody cares.

and yeah,it's much more comfortable to play it now.

Leather straps help too.

Where to get the strap button relocated?

I tried using leather straps for my guitar, but it seems like all the weight is on my left shoulder, and neck still dive down slightly. :(

u could try relocating it where the 4 screws are where the neck and body are bolted on(that is if your neck is bolted-on) It works coz i have a heavy guitar too.

Mine is a set-neck.

Drilling my guitar on my own is asking for disaster. Has almost zero knowledge on these. I'll probably get it down to some shop to have it done when I'm free. :)
