Has Anyone Done Pickup Magnet Swaps Before?

Anyone?

I'm thinking of doing it to a Seymour Duncan JB one day just for kicks . Maybe replace the Alnico 5 with a Alnico 2 or if i'm advantageous enough, a ceramic magnet.

Most probably getting the magnets on ebay.

If you're looking for help, the SD forums are full of people who do magnet swaps. Not too sure about locally though...

I've only done magnet flips, for hum cancelling as both humbuckers had the same magnetic polarity. It's actually very simple. GOogle it and follow the instructions. Just don't lose too much of the wax, else the pickup may become microphonic.

for the sake of experimentation, I don't see why not. worth giving a shot but you have to remember to record sound clips to compare the before and after because using your memory as reference is usually biased.

however if you are not the experimental type, you could send it to guitar connection. they've done it before.
