Hard case fit (please help!)

Hi everyone,

I really need to enquire about something.

I just bought a new CNB hardcase for my guitar. It's a rectangle hardcase those universal fit kind. I brought it home and tried to fit my rally lp inside. However, it seems like the neck is not resting on the neck rest of the case but instead its hovering about 1cm above the neck support. The weight of the guitar seems to be supported by the base and the headstock of the guitar. Also when I try closing the case, i have to use pressure to push down the top then lock the case.

My qns is - will this affect my guitar? Like the pressure from the top of the case damage my guitar since it seems that my guitar doesn't fit properly?

i believe it's to keep the guitar firm so that it would rock back and forth when moving the case, my g&l tweed case for my strat is also some what like that

i fear for your headstock. i'd buy a legit LP hardcase for a LP... or a really really well padded gigbag.

Yeah I know it's supposed to fit tight and snug in the case, but most of the pressure is on the headstock. I assume normally most of the pressure should be on the body and neck (since it's supported it won't warp). I'll try to get pics up asap. In the mean time, pls add in your input. Thanks!

hmm maybe you can add in custom foam padding at the area which rests the lower end of your guitar body to kind of allow the neck to rest nicely in the pocket

heres something i drew up in paint, e red area is the part which i think you can add the foam in to allow the neck to drop into the neck pocket. You should also add foam to fill up the places in the hardcase which has gaps when the guitar is placed on it. This would greatly prevent the guitar from rocking about in the hardcase when you carry it around
