We are planning to form a new band in Singapore with an aim to play classic/retro rock form the 70s and a bit from the 80s. We have lined up so far, a set of highly experienced and passionate players including a drummer, a keyboardist, a bass player and a vocalist. We are actively seeking a guitar player that can hold the band with his/her abilities in both rhythm and lead playing. This person would be the only guitarist and would ideally be able to play and be interested in playing the following specific genres
1) Blues-based rock playing (Led Zep, Tull, Cream, Purple, Lynryd Skynyrd)
2) Progressive/Melodic solo playing (Floyd, Santana, Rush, Yes, Asia, GNR)
3) General Rock rhythm guitar
4) 80s metal (Van Halen, Iron Maiden)
FYI, We are all working professionals between the ages of 30-40. We are totally open to audition any guitarist as long as there is the interest in this genre and experience/skill in playing.
We intend to practice in studios close to the centre of town like AlJunied (Swee lee) or in the Bugis area. Also, we'd like to mention that the main motivation is fun and to keep our playing up to snuff. Hence we do not really intend to do random gigs for cash.
