Hi... i am wondering how do u get a kind of violin tone like the one alexi laiho uses on his instructional video.... i am using a fender strat along wif a line 6 spider ll... if anyone knoes... pls tell me.. thx

By volume swelling i believe he means that you pick on a 0 volume, but as soon as you pick, turn the volume up to max (or around there) and back to 0 again in one fluid motion.

Saw malmsteen do it, been lovin it ever since. Too bad my RG's volume knob is too far away, my pinky cant reach it lol.

Digitech Whammy is more of a pitch shifter. A vol pedal can definitely do that kinda swells. Kirk Hammet has used on in "My friend of Misery", and countless others use them, including Vai.

Volume pedal for the volume swells. Definitely.

A whammy pedal raises and lowers the pitch. Not too sure about it doing a volume swell. Highly doubt it, though.

or you can be a bit budget and hammer on the note with your left hand and play with the volume knob with ur right hand, dats wad i do on mi les paul, sounds lyk crap anw, maybe its just me
