looking for a guitar tech who can put together a parts-telecaster : attach the neck to the body, install pickguard/pickups (which are already wired), get the intonation right etc.

if you make a suggestion, pls include telephone number or other contact details.

appreciate the feedback.

Guitar Connection - 6339 0606. They deal in Warmoth and Monster Relic parts, so they would have the most experience with partscasters I reckon.

Guitar Connection. They have the largest selection of parts for you to consider depending on what kind of part o caster you are trying to build.

I know one personal friend and himself is a guitarist that have travelled and played in various countries in his 30yrs of career.
Kind of retired but have a strong passion and a strict attitude in music.
Did a good job for my guitar so can try calling him and if he do not answer, drop him a sms on what u need him to do on yr guitar and mods.
Needless to tell you a pro needs no company!
Name: Melvin. Handphone:8394 3594
(You may try him for guitar lessons too...i think)

I've tried all the above mentioned guitar techs (except Melvin) with some disappointment. The best guitar tech, bar none, is Malcolm Tan. Nearly all the local guitar pros go to him as well. You'll have to purchase your own neck and parts, just bring down whatever you need Malcolm to help you fix up.

Email him at fix@mtlutherie.com

FWIW, I rarely post on Soft, but a poorly set up guitar, vs a well done one can mean a world of difference.

word!!! :d

I think it also depends on the quality of parts that its being used.
If you use good quality parts eg Warmoth, USACG, you may not require a very good tech.
Very good techs are also expensive.

Hey I'm doing a parts guitar too.

If drilling needs to be done for the pickguard screws, mounting holes in the neck and output jack plate holes, can these techs do it too?

I'm too scared to screw things up.

Thanks!

These are part and parcel of the tech job, just let the know what u want to do of if u have the parts in hand, make sure you let them know every details on what to be done and they able to quote you the price. Better if you write them down in a checklist.
Good guitar parts/material makes up abt 70% and abt 30% depends on how good the guitar is setup by the craftmen tech. That will gives you a almost perfect 100% score for yr guitar.
There are more tweaks and guitar parts mods that a very experience tech will be able to advise and improvise to either a new or old guitar to suit individual playability and budget - always ask and check with a pro is where u learn more hidden jewels. Don"t be stale playing and containment in what you know.

If u choose a wrong tech, don"t be scar for life because of the incident.
Its all a learning circle, as there are equally many good techs around too.

PS: my wife chooses different hairstylist too and never gets too upset if the other dosent suit her style and taste!

I got KC to fix a Warmoth neck on a Charvel body. That included drilling holes for the neck, Floyd nut & tuners. He also installed a decal, varnished it & did the setup. Great job, I'm very happy.
