Hey guys its me again. Haha. So the problem this time is about my guitar strings. I was learning how to tune my guitar when it accidentally broke. So i was thinking of getting a new one to change. But when i got to the shop, they only had classical strings left. (i play the acoustic).

i read from the net that classical strings are more friendly to beginners as it wont hurt as much and is easier to learn? so i was thinking now if i could change my strings to classical ones to learn with, then in the future when i get a new guitar then make it a real acoustic one.

do you guys think this is a good idea? i dont want to change to classical strings if it will affect my future guitaring as acoustic.

edit: btw my guitar is an acoustic one. idk if changing strings to classical would be a good idea.

Hi,

U wanna put classical strings on ur acoustic guitar? Erm.. Not really a gd idea.

My advice is when u fixed up the new strings, turn ur tuning knobs slowly. So they won't snap so easily. If u're afreaid, u can tune to a step down 1st, then strum for a while, then continue to tune to the standard tuning.

It'll be really weird to put classical strings on an acoustic guitar.
Personally for me, i feels its not compatible.

Classical strings is user friendly as they are easy on ur fingers, but if u play the steel strings for a while, soon ur fingers will get used to it.

Peace! Cheers :)

Hmmm classical strings can be put on an acoustic, but i'm not sure about the effects of this on the neck relief, since the tension of classical strings are much lower. And yeah don't bother with those music schools the gear they sell IMHO is total crap. Go down to a real shop at peninsula like Davis or SV Guitars and get some strings. U can try DR Strings at Davis or Dr Duck's strings at SV.
