Guitar Serial Number

one follow up question, Is the serial number imprinted
on the guitar or the dealer will assign a paper form
of certification with the serial number on it?? Is
this apply to Ibanez?

By the way, http://www.jmguitars.com is under
construction? When will that be up though?

For fender, if buying brand new, the number will be imprinted on the guitar.
And there's paperwork that certify that numbers.

I don't know for Ibanez.

I think only the prestige or signature guitar of Ibanez will have the Serial Number, provided it exists....

Should ask the Ibanez fans here? Any of you aware of this??

to my knowledge every single ibnaez guitar should haf a serial no. however i've seen 1 gio bought from thailand with no markings behind the headstock.

Tsunami,

I've been a bit slack there .... I will have the site up eventually though I can't promise when.

Let me know if you need any information though (either PM or via the email addy below).

all ibanez guitars have serial numbers at the rear of the headstock, even the non-Jap models, Gio series included.

not all fenders come with a documented certification.

Since we are in the subject of Ibanez product.
I know subversion is the guru here. Here is another question.

Since serial number is imprinted in the headstock of
an Ibanez guitar, just curious, what about the guitar
model number for instance GSA60, i can never find
the model name like GSA60 imprinted in the guitar.

Are there any model's name imprinted on the guitar?

My curiosity arise, since most of the Ibanez do
look alike, when buying for a second hand guitar
like 10 years back model, how are you going to
know what model is that particular guitar without
the Model's Name imprinted in the guitar?

If there is a model name imprinted on the guitar,
where can i find it though, is it the same place
as serial number, Headstock?

my first encounter with the Ibanez brand way back in 1991 was this: the model number eg: RG550, was pasted at the rear of the headstock. this was a little sticker which could be removed easily, subsequently there's no way to know which model it is after that.

late '90s saw the removal of such model indicators so you don't know what you are dealing with, unless you refer to a catalogue. it's easy reference these days when things are on-line.

however, the Ibanez guitars since 2003 has a model number imprinted at the rear of the headstock together with the serial number, which makes life easier for those of us who know nuts about Ibanez guitars. however, this isn't standard practice, the Gio models are still devoid of such indicators to date. best to refer to catalogues before you decide...

in any case, if you need an Ibanez i/d, state it here (finish/ pickup config/ etc.), there are many players who would be more than happy to offer help 8)

Thanks a lot for the information provided here. As usual,
you are always very informative. Will do so should there
any need arise in finding a serial number and model
number of a particular Ibanez brand. :?:
