Hello all:D

I was thinking of getting a Les Paul for my electric guitar. Was wondering should I get a 2nd hand Epiphone Les Paul (only guitar) or a GS 300 Highest end with everything needed?

I am going for lessons but I think I would need a guitar before I go,also I really love Les Paul designs so i don't know which to choose.

Advice please?

Rally GL300 is not a Les Paul...

no.

what i mean is, it's not a 'Les Paul'. it's Les Paul-like because it's a copy, the manufacturer's own interpretation of the Les Paul with a little variation, but it's not one.

the term 'Les Paul' is used loosely to refer to a single cutaway guitar which Gibson manufacturers. i'm not inviting differences in any way, just putting things right because the Rookie corner here is a reference for many beginners. we begin right, we'll turn out good.

i own this Grass Roots guitar which looks exactly like the Les Paul but it's not... because it's not a Gibson...

you are referring to a craftsman right? actually, looks wise i think a GS200 is better, price difference bewtween the GS200 and GS300 is only $16 so i think material and workmanship wise, these two are quite similar.

are you also planning on getting an amp?

If I getting from there I getting the amp together luh. But now I think of getting Rally Blue LP-like guitar. Amp I get a normal one will do luh

I think if u dun really about brands and more into the quality, it is ok. But personally i love Epiphone. =) I myself got one epiphone les paul standard top plus. Both it at swee lee for 800 with epiphone hard case.

to me Epiphone is trying too hard to be the Gibson they are assigned to emulate & not quite making it. other brand names do not see this as priority, yes, they prosper in the LP shadow but are not afraid to include some refinements/ revisions to make them more appealing.

however, i hold Epi's Ultra LP in high regards.
