i'm asking if you can used guitar pedals on bass...
because i saw the muse bass pedal line-up..and chris(the bassist) uses boss's overdrive distortion on his bass... so i was wondering if i could used boss's DS-1 on my bass???

and

also is the brand T.Rec a reliable brand???

you can use any guitar pedal on bass. the question which must be asked when doing so however is... do i like what i hear? if it's yes, by all means do so. if not, keep searching i guess.

i think u mean t rex pedals. i hear they're okay. not too many people use them from what i know. kinda high end even for the boutique stuff's range.

Most guitar pedals come with 80hz Low cut filters so good luck.

so...
it filters out the low noted???

depends on what you're looking for actually .. =) ... some guitar pedals work very well with bass .. and some guitarists actually go for bass pedals because it sounds nicer on the guitar ..

i guess because they don't cut the 80hz ... or use the low pass filter on it ..

then... could i use the Boss DS-1 or the turbo distortion on my bass???

aand also my teacher said..it could be done... but then there must be an equalizer paddle behind to give it the correct sound

hope for guys to give me your thoughts

:)

try and see.

i have heard people using both on bass before... they tend to give a growlly tone.. can work nicely for a kinda grungy rhythm bass type thing..

but you can loose some of your extreme low end..

I'll use the guitar pedal for the higher notes on the bass, lower notes will still have that bass tone w/o the effects.

Super chorus pedal (CH-1) works better than the bass chorus (CB-1) for me as well

What I mean is that the effects is not as predominant on the lower notes compared to the higher notes.

it's a good thing if you're playing alot like a guitar ...

its perfectly fine to use delay on bass.. even chris from muse uses delay (short delay rather) to sort of thicken the sound. you can even try experimenting using delay with other stuff like keyboards and vocals. pretty cool.. :D

its okay if i use guitar delay pedals on my bass right???

as in there's nothing wrong right??

sure there's nothing wrong .. i'm going to get a delay pedal soon for my bass ...

works very much on the higher harmonics .. i wonder what happens if you use a delay pedal with a thick octaver .. hahahha .. i'll find out soon i guess ..
