Any good guitars from yamaha both acoustic n electric? Have tried RGX A2 and AES 620 before and they're quite good ... Anymore?

Yamaha APX-700 and Yamaha CPX-700. Retailing at $800+ at Yamaha. Both are acoustic guitars by the way.

I suppose u're a beginner ?
Why not take a look at Cort's guitars. They're definitely better priced and some $400+ models sounds better than a Yamaha's $400+ models (and lower end); hope u get what i'm trying to imply. U can also take a look at Takamine's acoustic guitars as well.

Go down to Luther Music at Peninsula or Swee Lee or Davis Guitar. Try them !

I would recommend a Cort guitar. It has a bulging back and it's a solid top. But as usual, i dont remember the model. :D It costs less than $450. And it's good ~

I'm a electric guitar noob myself, cant give u any recommendations.

Cheers.

For Yamahas I'd recommend the higher-end FG series, CPX series or if possible the L series. The lower-end Yamaha acoustics are pretty poor... If you have around $300-400, try out the Cort Earth series. I tried the Cort Earth 70e and Earth 100, and they're really impressive. Well-made, sounded excellent. The strap buttons are plastic and quite fragile-looking, though. If you are going to be playing standing up, you might want to install metal strap buttons later on.

But they're very impressive guitars, and very affordable for the specs they offer (solid-tops!). Other recommendations would be the lower-end Takamines if you care more about the tone, than whether its solid-top or not.

So yeah, try these out, more worth it than the lower-end Yamahas in my opinion.

As for electric, I'd recommend the Ibanez Gio series, but the quality is pretty inconsistent so make sure you find a good piece. Check the tuning stability, everything. A good piece goes a long way, I actually like my Ibanez Gio more than some higher-end guitars I've tried.

I'd advise against a double-locking tremolo for now. Get either a hardtail (fixed) bridge or a vintage tremolo like those on the Fender Stratocaster. More reliable at this price range.
