I'm a offering electric guitar lessons specializing in the area of rock, blues and pop guitar.
A little background on myself, I play lead guitar for two established rock bands in Singapore. Both bands have release eps and albums to date, and I am also a studio sessionist and have recorded on collaborative tracks for numerous compilation releases.
I've been actively performing, playing over 220 shows in the past 3 years.
Also, I lead worship with a contemporary Christian band.
I also have an artiste profile on the Gibson BFG webpage, and am supported by Gibson Guitars.
As for lessons -
- I teach absolute beginners to intermediate levels of proficiency in electric guitar (been teaching for two years, with high rate of progress from students):
- chords, chord progressions, rhythm playing, the various usage of scales and modes, licks, lead guitar improvisation methods, rock guitar techniques (tapping, sweeping,)
- Aside from lessons in guitar, I also like including the dynamics of the instrument into my classes. For example, the importance of knowing what and when to play while in a band, performance advice, input regarding recording and sessioning.
- Lessons can also be catered for student preference towards a particular aspect of learning the electric guitar. If you have a particular area of interest (eg. just want to learn songs), let me know, and we can work something out.
- I live around Queenstown, but lessons on location at students convenience can be arranged.
- Young learners are welcomed, I've taught young learners before, just make sure he/she is big enough to handle the size of a guitar.
