Guitar effects/pedals

Hey, I'm not sure what pedals/guitar effects to get.

I only have a Wylde MXR Overdrive.
Am I missing somethings like distortion, delay or such?

My guitar is Ibanez ICT-700 Iceman.

I would play stuffs mostly like Green Day, Muse, a lot of alt rock stuffs. Sometimes DragonForce, Metallica and such.

What other effects should I get? :(

P.S: not really into multi-pedals stuffs

Loves,
Ken

if you play hard music, that Wylde OD is insufficient- i'm assuming you are not using it to boost your amp's distortion...

there are no fix set of efffects to acquire for your personal use, just try as many as as you can & embrace the ones serving your needs.

u will need one more distortion pedal or overdrive.

the wylde od stacks very nicely with other overdrive pedals. thats how zakk wylde uses it. try it! i have gotten good results with the wylde od when i stack.

I'm not sure about stacking it. How do I stack it? Switching on OD in my amp and then switching on the wylde one?

and it'll be cool for someone to recommend me a good distortion.

correct. switching the pedal on when the amp is overdriven is considered stacking.

so if u wanna stack the wylde od with another distortion pedal for more compression and gain, the chain goes like this:

guitar -> wylde od -> distortion -> amp (corrected, thanks mus).

amp is on clean, and the distortion on. hit the wylde od when u want more gain.

I thought stacking was,

guitar -> wylde od -> distortion -> amp.

Or it's possible both ways?. Correct me if I'm wrong.

eh SHIT yeah i wrote wrongly.

thanks for correcting me. the way u stated is stacking to have more gain and saturation.

the way i stated it is more of clean boosting. boosting for more volume.

i dont believe in stacking, because mainly i dont know how to use it "correctly", and because i cant find the right tone heh.

But i can recommend you to get a distortion pedal. I have 3 gain pedals on my board, but i dont stack, i find the right tone for the songs im playing.

For eg, i use my ds-1 for solos, my TS7 with 808specs for chording, and my big muff for those heavy and bassier stuffs.

anw there's the digitech sc-2 valve something like that it sounded pretty good on youtube and other reviews but somehow it didnt appear much around soft i dont know why but u can give it a try.
or if u have the money u can try to wait for the 7th heaven another undoubtly great pedal, you can ask softies on that i've heard it personally myself at baybeats great stuff haha, but i think it's better if you bring your guitar and try em, cause i believe the tone vary from guitar to guitar, correct me if im wrong

u should. since u have a tubescreamer, it stacks great with other drive pedals to give them sustain and a bump in the mids to let ur solos cut better.

Must cost a bomb man.

I'm looking for a distortion, durable and good tone, with my Iceman.

Yeah, any suggestions other than some of the previous ones? :D

Million thanks people! :)

hi bros, does this apply as in distortion = higher gain pedal?

because in my case, it give me more of a clean boost when the distortion is AFTER the overdrive. hmm. maybe it's just the different natures of a pedal?
