Guitar Customisation - Local or Overseas?

hey all... i've been thinking about customising a guitar from scratch(wood, body type, pickups, everything...) Are local services reliable or should I follow my friend's advice and have it done overseas? thx for ur help...

its quite possible to DIY a bolt-on guitar.
just buy the parts and fix it.
but if thats not the path you wanna take, there's somebody here who has custom made multi-stringed guitars/bass, you can ask him

I have a custom strat assembled by Kai Chin of Guitar connection, I choose my own 1 piece maple neck, natural swamp ash body finish, vintage sounding Ken Armstrong pick up. He done a very good job.
