Good acoustic guitar to get?

It's amazing.. soft got alot of supporters for our fellow brand Maestro but if you visit G4C.. it's another world.. they thrash Maestro like no tml.. lol..

I find Softies much more knowledgeable and much nicer... Some G4C people think they know so much and they diss not only some really good guitars, but each other as well... Which is why I quit the G4C forums after some heated arguments which, unfortunately, are still there.

I bought a Timothy S10J early this year and since then I have not gassed for any other acoustic. My previous was a Maestro high end one which I sold. The worksmanship for maestro still not quite there if you are willing to pay > 1000 for an acoustic.
The lower end maestros are fine for the price. Nice action and decent sound.

Never ever buy from the Yamaha outlets. Prices are ridiculous there.

Try Luthermusic if you want a Yamaha. But personally I recommend Maestro because they're really well-made and sound great too.

Its not always true. I bought yamaha cpx700 6 months ago from yamaha (Plaza Singapura) because it was cheaper than luthermusic. Yamaha normally gives 10% (cant remember exactly). I always thought that luthermusic is much cheaper than Yamaha, but I found out later its not always the case. Do you homework before purchase. Yamaha has more selection for their brand of guitars as well.

Recently luthermusic released a CORT EARTH 70E, comes with pickups. It states there Solid Spruce.

For price of $320, well I guess it's really reasonable, but I have yet to try the guitar out myself.

Cort makes pretty decent starters guitar too.

To me, all acoustics are neutral. Why? Acoustics have a different feel/building process than electrics. There are more ways to screw up the making of an acoustic than an electric, hence the inconsistent quality of some acoustics. Yamaha is not as bad as madwerewolfboy makes it out to be, i have had worse experiences with certain low-end Takamines. U can consider Ibanez too, though not the Artcore series, i didn't like the general feel of them, they're.........different, for lack of a better word. Finas, Corts, Yamahas, Maestros and Ibanezes, to a certain extent. Try these out first, let ur ears do the deciding. And make sure u buy the 1 u tried, a new one might have slightly different tonal qualities, workmanship. U might even wanna ask an obliging SOFTie to go down with u, his experience wld be a great help.
