hello everyone

just getting some opinion on the abovementioned Gibson models; knowing they are the base offerings by the manufacturer, what's everyone's opinion on these? should dealers bring more of these in?

eeeeewwwww.. i hate dot inlays!!

imo.. gibson has really dropped in quality over the years.. i wont want the lowest end of a brand that is already dropping in quality..
btw, most of the new designs look so weird.. i like their older models better, both tone and in looks

for SGs...the only new mass production models that i myself would go for are the '61 reissue and the SG-3 (the one with humbuckers not single coils).

the special, well its good value for money...somewhat similar to the standard cept for cosmetics and wood quality...and has a hotter sound too.

and tany, for flames theres always the LP studio premium plus :P

the reason why majority of the LP Studios aren't flame topped- these guitars aren't suppossed top be cosmetically enhanced. something very functional for use, that's the priority.

does this count the gibby les paul jr and the single-cut les paul?itd be great to see more of these models around.

Hi Subversion,

Yap, I think it should be about $700 diff between a studio plus and a regular standard. But, the amount can be subjective (and please pardon me) since to some $700 can be a hefty amount.

+1 to quality dropping. Tried a couple of guitars that don't feel and sound as good as i expected.

i used to own a gibson les paul studio gem ...with p90 pups.....sold it off... now really regret.......i still love it....

There is no doubt that LP Studio line should place in any Gibson dealer. Even those who own higher model turn to purchase Studios.
