Anybody bought the above-said guitar? or better yet, compared it with the 60's and/or 70's tribute? Only found the 50's in Swee Lee.

If you're talking about the Gibson Les Paul Studio 50's Tribute w/ Humbucker,

I tried it and i'm really diggin it other than the neck finish which can be pardoned for the price.

Can't seem to click with the p90s no matter how many times i try (Gibson Les Paul Studio 1960's Tribute)

the finish was meant to be like that- gloss-free, unless you are implying it's a bad QC.

bought... :-)

With abt 1k price tag, I feel it's worth the money as it certainly does feels like the typical les paul for me. But than, it's a strip down ya with factors like the neck feel, body finishes, etc.

Tried it but i feel the neck is too wide for me. 60's neck was reviewed to be much thinner from other forums. Anybody can vouch for this? Anybody know where to find this? Swee doesn't carry it last i checkef ib Kating.

The Swee Lee branch at penin should have it cause that's when i tried it.

Yes I somewhat prefer the 50's neck to the 60's neck. The price is yummy also.

i think you're confusing width with thickness. Gibson don't do wide necks, they have some of the narrowest in the business.

60s neck- Gibson calls it the 'slim taper' profile which is a little misleading as the 'slim' here still feels substantial compared to other brands' 'slim' (eg: Ibanez/ PRS/ BC Rich).

I've been eyeing the honeyburst one for a long time! Couldn't get the wifey to agree. :D. Just wondering how thick the 50's neck is like, considering the 60's is slimmer than the 50's but not as slim as ibanez, prs, etc. Coming from a cv tele i wonder how's the thick neck gonna be like after playing for an hour or so...

in general, both 50s and 60s are almost the same thickness at the first few frets...
but like the 60s slim taper namesake, it basically maintains uniform thickness right down to the 12th fret...only increasing in thickness marginally.
while on the 50s the neck gets progressively thicker further down you go.

but of cos there are always variations due to them being hand finished.

Hey, thanks for the reply bro! Seems like the 60's neck suits me more then. Might be a good idea to pop by the store to feel the necks personally. Thanks!

due to depth differences, these affect the neck profile. please take time to handle both necks if this is within your means.

Hey Sub, I tested the guitar but went with a special instead..

Reason being the neck feels less comfortable for me, and the body seems too light for a Les Paul. Even the Epiphones have a heavier body.

Thats said, its a nice guitar at a gr8 price and the gold top is just wicked!!

Does this has pcb? Any changes made?

Nothing wrong with a light Les Paul if it sings the way it should.

I'm a fan of practicality. Unless that heavy Les Paul sounds so darn good that I have to buy it.

Otherwise, I'll just buy a Trad Pro and put it at home. :)

Not that I have anything with light guitars, but if you played some older LP which are really solid or heavy, you will know the tone is different. Even the lawsuit models, but I dont wanna get out of topic.

The feel and tone just didn't sit right with me, as much as I wanted to buy the guitar
