Hi everyone! Again!
I am doing another event at Ministry of Sound. While Flow has been my primary focus for the last few months, this show is designed more like a regular local original live music showcase with a platform at a larger venue in mind. I am only utilising the SMOOVE (Rnb/Hip-hop room) for Ghetto Live as yet. The bands themselves will be playing out of the VIP room due to the FOH in the cage arena feeding back into the mics.
To be completely transparent, I'm working on a more intimate level with MOS (They are co-organising) in the facilitation of this show and am being given a small production budget which I am sharing to pay the bands with. I will NOT be asking anyone to sell tickets for this show, which may or may not become a series depending on the initial turnout. As our team has already gotten a good impression with MOS, the plan now is to capitalise on this relationship and get more and more local live original acts into credible venues/platforms.
The bands on the line-up (Which have already been on the FLOW lineup for ease of administration) know that the first budget given to me is VERY small - its barely even enough to cover the cost of the equipment. I put aside a couple of hundred bucks for the bands and Flybar and Ivy's Vendetta, being bands managed by myself, were so kind to volunteer to play for nothing. Which is Wrong, if you ask me. It would be serious waste to miss out on this foothold yet unethical to get free labour, so I would beseech the other bands on the lineup to SHARE the cash I will be giving you guys instead of letting people play a set with no renumeration
Bear in mind, that I have come to terms that I will probably be making ZERO DOLLARS for this event myself.
But please HELP ME HELP YOU: We got successful with FLOW, but if no one shows up at this event, we'll be back at square one. (And thus, no more ministry of sound for live bands)
SLOTS AVAILABLE
NO MORE SLOTS AVAILABLE FOR GHETTO LIVE. Check here again for future instalments
If G.L. becomes a regular stint, I will pick 3 bands every time and perhaps one DJ and let them decide if there should be any other comers. This way, some degree of power is held by the bands themselves
