Hi,
I have for sale a MINT Ibanez TS-9 tubescreamer. when i say MINT, it is MINT as in an 80s pedal with not so much as a chip or a hint of rust!! Heck the plastic sheet is still over the front label!!!. This is an original TS-9 MADE from the mid 80s (A TRUE VINTAGE). Note that this is NOT a reissue like all the new tubescreamers flying around.
ARE THEY EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE REISSUES??? answer is NO. While the component values are kept the same. The brand of components - resistors, capacitors, transistors have all changed along with a cheaper and thinner PCB board. ... Cost still need to be cut.
Going price is $210 flat. This is as much an excellent overdrive pedal as it is a genuine collector's item.
People tend to get antsy over transparency and whine about the mid range hump of vintage ibanez tubescreamers but no one hears players as diverse as Paul Gilbert, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, SRV, Eric Johnson complaining about the tone when using Original versions of the tubescreamer both TS-9 and TS-808.
I have the keeley version and heard the analogman version. They are ALL excellent and anyone from Joe Satriani to Joe Bonamassa have played them but why for the life of me do seasoned players like them eventually go back to the originals, i leave that conclusion to you...
