I've a problem here. I want to plug in the guitar but I don't know what to use. I've go around peninsula and ask about guitar recording and stuff but they seem a little clueless. Anyone of you here know what and where to buy ?

If you have the latest garageband, there is a video guide on how to plug in guitar into mac and record in Garageband. Help-> Garageband Help -> Lesson 4. It is for electric but the same for acoustic. At the most basic to get started with. If you serious about the quality, than many there can help you on what budget you can afford.

Sim Lim Tower for a simple 1/4" Jack to 1/8" Jack cable or 1/4" to 1/8" adaptor. You also can try your nearest electrical shop to look for it. Even NTUC may have it especially the adaptor type.

Double click your guitar to open Real Instrument windows on the right. Go Browse tab. Under Source go choose between Mono1 (built in microphone)or Mono2 (built in microphone). If you choose stereo 1/2(built in microphone), at least one channel will receive the signal. Strum your guitar, see any output on the main volume beside the transport control. By default your Monitor is off. You will not hear any output. Put to on and adjust the input volume. You will hear the guitar sound.
