hmm. well I'm not sure if it's a funk bassline but i think the one from 'Battlestar Scralatchtica' by Incubus is pretty cool.

There's some pretty good funk bass all over Red Hot Chili Pepper's 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' album. Check it out! Cheers.

Muse rock! try hysteria, sounds damn tough and tricky, but it really isn't.

muse has lots of crazy ffx though. fuzz generally.
