Hi my name is jose I have a repair shop you can see it at jpjkotss.com I usly charge from 450 to 800 to do job.

not as easy as it sounds to just remove the fretboard and replace it with one that has funky inlays.

for a start, you would have to remove the fretboard using heat to detach it from the rest of the neck. do note that heat will warp your neck.

after that, you'd have to place the fretboard in place correctly so as to avoid messing up the intonation of the guitar. the fretboard might not be able to fit the neck 100% so after gluing it back nicely, you would have to sand down the uneven portions and might have to respray the rest of the neck since sanding down the fretboard would inevitably require you to sand the neck a little. once you are done, you would have to check whether the frets are popped out of place due to the heat. if they are, you'd have to level them down so that there would be no dead spots nor buzzing.

all that work just for a change in fretboard. you could do the inlays on the neck without removing the fretboard though. much cheaper too. the only reason why someone has to remove the fretboard is when the truss rod is broken or other serious truss rod issues.
