ok, i think we should talk about "what is" and "what is not".
this site is about music and supporting music making in Singapore. While I agree that everyone have their own opinion, please voice them out without the use of foul language. You can say, "This is cool!". You dont need to have the F word. "This is fxxking cool".
I hope we can respect fellow users and not treat SOFT as if it is nothing. To me, the site is what I look forward to everyday. I am just 1 person taking care of the whole site. Got to pay for the hosting, do up the site, add content, regulate ad posting, monitor the forum and backup the site every night.
Is this my full time job? No. It is my hobby. I love it more than my job.
I know we are all behind a screen but do respect others just like we are band mates jamming.

Expressing views, be it controversial or not, is OK in forums. But when certain type of language is used, then I agree with some kind of censorship.
Remember this is a public forum for musicians of all ages. I'm sure there are young musicians visiting this site (primary school). As a parent, I would not want my child to come to a site filled with vulgarities. If we want to promote music in this region and get people of all ages to be involved (yes, music starts at a young age), then we have to try to create a healthy environment.
Since we can accept 15 year olds from being turned down from buying tickets to an NC16 movie, surely we can accept a little courtesy in using appropriate language in our posts for the sake of our younger musicians.
It's not easy being a moderator and I think James is doing a good job, having to police it and run it all during his free time. Either way, he gets criticised! Can't please everybody...

yes i know james is having a hard time in maintaining this site.. so lets dont stress him out anymore..
btw it's not just vulgarities the reason for del post? what other rules should we know before posting? maybe we should get it clear now before future conflicts arise :wink:
