For all those who still call us SM

I was just popping by to drop James a note.

It has been about 2 years since we have closed and I still get calls for bookings. And I dont know how to put it, it sucks.

I read the past post by the people who loved the studio, how we started from the scratch and the friendships we made there, bad or good. How I nearly pissed in my pants when I was recording Louis Pragasen. And I remember you daryl! You kids were fun! Silly fights between LGF!

I do miss it, it was tough but I could call it mine.

If you are wondering if we ever come back again, honestly we dont know. Today got big ang pow draw. If we come back, I swear to you, it be bigger and better.

Any studios offering $25 for jam recording? Hee

Was trying to post a pic here but oh well.. I am a drummer.

Take care all.

soundmix will always stand for all the fun years i had when i was a small(er) kid. not to mention it was easily the best jamming and demo recording studio ever.

i've never managed to find another studio that i would want to frequent, nowadays i jam at home. but if you guys reopen, you know who will support you (:

i'm glad you remember us, haha. here's wishing you all the best in whatever you do.

Hey Darren! Yeah, it's been a looong time and there's no studio that we'd miss as badly as Soundmix. LGF's the friendliest band lor...where got fights? *LOL* I listened to all the jam recordings we've done so far and the best ones still come from SM. But that's not all, everything else is sorely missed by us...the huge studio, awesome equipment, you, Sanja + other friendly peeps, the gong, the 'in-studio' toilet (tell me which jamming room inside got toilet wan??), the damy comfy couch I could lie down and play guitar on...not forgetting those gossips sessions, etc...man, it feels like yesterday!

Well, what the future holds for SM (or you guys), we wouldn't know...but one thing's for sure: We'll be there when its doors are opened :) Thanks for the good times, my friends! Be sure to give us some good news should things take a better turn!

Soundmix... I remembered how me and my band took 20 mins to find the studio when we just got together.. I remembered how it was a studio I've never seen before (been studio hopping then)

Wanted to go back there to jam with my new band, and that stupid landlord of yours had to ask you guys to close the beautiful place down when the bastards below who were renovating complained that you guys were to noisy! I was like, #@^#!$^&!#^ wtf!? I curse that landlord who forced you guys to close down!!

Wow.

And I thought SoundMix just went "dead". It's just unreasonable to close down due to being noisy?

From all the studios I've been, nothing has been as bestest as SoundMix. Really, every other studio should follow their footsteps. A jamming studio has to be great!

Though I am nothing compared to SoundMix, I will collect money, and open a great studio, and pay a tribute to the best studio ever made in Singapore (IMHO).

And if you do re-open, please make the news big. Everybody has been waiting.

Oh that's not the funny part. The humour lies in the fact that the people who were RENOVATING (think: drills) the bottom unit, complained that the jamming studio above was NOISY... Yeah, everything sure makes sense...

Lots of wonderful times and memories at Soundmix man. Great hospitality, top notch equipment (I miss the drumkit!), cosy ambience and of course, the gossips/bitching after jamming. Good times.

If you guys are making a comeback, you can bet on your last dollar that LGF will be there! :D

OMG...sound mix...ahh yess...sound mix...

with the 6 piece mapex drums ( i think )...pearl roadster throne (oh so comfy)...Sabian AA 16" crash and HH crash...a Zyn splash which I have no idea who cracked...haiz. The ride!! Until now I have no idea what ride cymbal that was.Yeah 502 hats...K custom hats...awesome yamaha snare...Gah...best drum set i sat on for Jamming...haha. Lovely ambience.

I remember having a soft jam there too once...dang...thats so long ago!

I hope for the best for Darren!

dang

I am sure warmed by your well wishes and what you have gained from there. That was part of the 'mandate' we had, to sort of pass on knowledge to the young whats the whole deal about recording and how much effort it has to go in, not just plain studio trickery and editing.

Anyways, Kin HO , bb got HOES on tap eh? HAHA HO SEH ah. You HO boh? Kel and I sat down last fri and he asked me if I was interested in forming up a studio again. So who knows!

Mel and Elias, take care! You two are like Gandolf and erm.... hmmmm

Frummer, ride was a sabian bought way back in the early 90s and it was a yamaha drum set :) I miss that drumset too. It is in my house now but as you know, HDB has no rhythm.

Daryl my boy, good to know you are still playing. Remember what we nagged at you about!

And if we do open, trust me, I can always rely on LGF to spread the news can I?

See you guys around man.

Yes, let us know asap if you guys decide to open a studio!
