Frankly I'm shocked that Ibanez discontinued the RG321. The RG321 is more versatile than the RGR321EX in my opinion. The latter, appearance wise, is a straight heavy metal guitar.

But I'd recommend the RG321. Try to grab one.

He's looking for a Superstrat... But Rally does have a fixed-bridge superstrat that looks pretty good but I have yet to try it personally.

can consider some of the LTD guitars. can throw a set of nice pickups in them. either that or start hunting around the 2nd hand guitar market. not a bad option at all.
