hi, i'm a beginner looking for my first acoustic guitar. I only have a budget of 300 to work with and hope to get some recommendation on any particular brands or model which would be most ideal... pls advice... thanks

check out Cort guitars. I believe and know they make fantastic guitars for your budget...

Cant help you with the models tho, my memory fails me. Check ou the swee lee website for a few of them :)

ya i got a cort earth guitar as my first acoustic quite a few years ago. still like it alot. too bad it aint got any pickups.

Thanks for the replies. The Cort Earth 70E comes with a pickup. Any comments on that model? The other Cort below 300 listed on Swee lee's website is the Cort Earth 72, will that make a better choice compare to the 70E?

i think that the yamaha fx-310 with built-in pickups are good for beginners. it's kinda good for performance too..

actually unless u gig alot, buying an acoustic with a pickup isnt really necessary. when i first started playing i liked the novelty of having a pickup installed so i messed with those sound hole ones (which arent exactly the best compared to the installed ones) but after awhile it got quite tedious to set up and theres not much effects and stuff. mainly chorus.

I advise for a beginner, get a pure acoustic first. Pick-ups can always be installed later if needed, because if a pick-up isn't used enough, it can spoil overtime. Better to get pure acoustic first.
