Fernandes Truss rod help!!~

Hey guys, Im able to adjust truss rods on every guitar i've ever owned but this one from fernandes is completely new to me

its the same top nut as gibson, even the same size, with a square washer beneath that runs freely on the truss rod.

the truss rod itself has a Screw threading.

When I tighten the Nut onto the rectangular washer, and tighten it somemore, the neck is adjusted but only on the top end and stop about just after the first fret...thus making the frets buzz on the first fret and the entire neck is not corrected...

though it only needs slight adjustment because im anal about my guitars.. was just wondering if anyone knows the proper way to get it done~

it seems as though when the top nut is tightened on the top, it only compresses the top without rotating the actual rod within the neck? i dont know but thats what i think is going on~

im not just about to ask someone to set up my guitar for me just as due to bad experience where nothing was done and my guitar was damaged and i wasted money when i could've just done it myself and save the trouble~

seen one in G77 before with the lowest of LOW action and it had the same type of nut/truss rod config i believe~

fret buzz on 1st fret? check neck relief. sounds like not enough relief.

adjustment seems to affect only the area around the 1st fret? seems normal. for truss rod adjustments the "flex" around that area is most apparent. if you loosen your truss rod you can see that area bow most obviously, compared to higher up the neck.

want to achieve low action? if your neck relief is just right, look at bridge/saddle height and check if the frets are uneven causing buzz.

halen, what happens is that when i turn it in the anticlockwise direction, the entire length of the neck is unaffected, only from the nut to the first fret is "corrected", bent backwards. when this happens the first fret from the nut gets too high and the rest of the neck still bows so basically its like

theres a proper amount of neck relief and the guitar's intonation is great~ chords ring out fine even after 15th.

but neck is not as straight as i want it to be, like this shouldn't be a problem but i ahve no idea how to adjust the entire curve of the neck istead of the nut to first fret bending backwards.

Hmm, i hope that explination is clearer :/

I've also tried to condition the neck, loosening the strings and waited for the neck to become straight on its own without the tension and tightening the nut on the rod just abit hoping that it will set the neck to this flatness of the neck, but when strings are tuned to pitch then it comes back again...

OH! i've also checked the reverse end of the neck just incase the adjustment is made from the Bolt on side like some Fenders but its sealed up and only point of entry is at the headstock.

also thanks for the quick reply, i really do love this guitar because it produces what i play even tho the neck is ever slightly bowed, tones come out right, string pitch and whatnot just sound proper, and i always get my action sorted out first before anything, but once i learn how to do it on this guitar then its gonna be unstoppable!!

anticlockwise is loosen, which means generating more relief/bow. clockwise is tighten, which means lessen relief/bow. from what i read from you, you actually want to straighten the neck, which means to tighten the truss rod and eliminate bow/relief, right?

hmmm clockwise from the other direction lol, Yes. tightening the rod to eliminate neck relief to make strings closer to the Frets

Edit: not looking for low action but straight neck :)
