hi bros need some help. i'm looking into getting a fender special edition blackout tele. currently guitar gallery and swee lee stocks quite a few number of teles but all not this one. any idea how i can import or order thru any of the local distributors? or is it advisable that i get a tele and mod the electronics to what i want? thanks for any help!

bro- the Blackout tele is available @ Swee Lee, i did a brief review of it under Gear News here... if it's not in stock, then it might be sold out...
although the Blackout tele feels & sounds every bit fantastic, it's overpriced for a Korean unit. just my opinion...

Mod Tele
Hi Ederius,
It's ok if you get a Squire Tele and mod it also. I have modded one for a customer. Changed the pickups, Volume/Tone pots, and switch to tele types.
He got these pickups called Bare Knuckle shipped in from the UK. Sound great ! Maybe you can consider this option.

enigma: how much did you charge? did you include labour and material together? quite skeptical about this option cos ultimately i want good long lasting gear, rather than skimp on a few hunnerds! but price constraint may eventually push me to this window
actually, imho, i like to physically play a guitar before buying it. just feel very unsafe that i'm spending over $1k on a guitar that i've only seen on screens! but at the same time, i know quite a few friends who have had success with their imported guitars. oh well.. personal preference rules the day eh?
