Hehe. Pretty good instrument. Pickups are a little lacking, the 60 cycle hum can irritate you. Overall a worthy investment. Plus it's satin, lets the wood BREATHE, comfortable to the touch to.

*i base this on experience, before i had the extensive modifications done*

Verdict: Get it man! Like Chanmin said, you can't go wrong ;)

Absolutely. I'm an Ibanez person, but the strat neck is wonderful to play on. Plus you get that classic "strat sound"

To quote Chan once again: You can't go wrong.

this weekend is a good day to buy one 8)

the Standard Strat (Satin), lists for $1,035. after disct, it should be about $675... IF the distributor don't change their minds that is...

yup, that's the other consideration- a little more dough & you'll get a Highway1 unit. if you are interested, refer to my Highway1 thread ASAP...

I bought it from luthermusic about 1.5 yrs back. It was about 800 i think. Can't really remember the price though.

Did it come with a Fender case?
I am thinking of getting this one either from Swee Lee or a MIJ Std Strat from Luther. I did not know Luther sold Strat Satin.

Luther only brought these in for a short period of time, until Sweelee bitched bout it and they had to stop.

The only case i got was the simple cheap black ones. No fender cases.

i saw some second hand fender strat being sold at one shop near davis (is it Guitar Connection or something), but they got no serial number.

are those fake one?

some fender strats do not have the serial numbers (on their headstocks)...

GC deals with vintage stuff so there might be a chance that a guitar may be fender and do not have serial number at all. although strictly speaking there should be some luther mark at the neck join when you remove the neck or on the body.

Well i would say there's still a possibility of a fake fender strat in any case. do ask for its authencity before buying.
