Fender Qn.?

Traditionally, only the American models. Even Japanese JV models do not have it.

i'm not sure if the "lower-end" Am models feature it anymore thou. For example, Highway 1, Traditional etc.

which fenders will hv the "fender" name on the metalplate @ the back?

My 95' American Standard comes with it. Not sure what other models have it as well...

my classic series MIM strat had it.

really? hmm must be considered highend then?

cos i know fender policy for lowend models is not to have the fender logo on the plate.

vintage saddles, specs, standard trem, 21 frets. I'm not exactly sure cos I never do research into that series. but from what i know, it's considered "lower-end" am strats (notice the "" there).

this is a contrast to other fender models, such as the contemporary, which features 22 frets, flat saddles, different neck profile.

yes thor666 the previous owner claimed so. swee lee took a look , they said it looked genuine, played like one, felt like one and sounded like one ,but with their lousy records, they couldn't traced it with the serial number. The previous owner said he bought it from swee lee's Takashimaya brunch abt. 6 yrs back.

I gave Fender USA just the serial number and asked them to date the guitar, they came back not only with the year and country of origin but the color too, and what do you know, that was the color of my guitar.

That of course does not conclusively prove either way, but as swee lee said, if it was a copy, it was a very very good copy. I guess the only way to find out is to strip the guitar and check the internal and the electronics. But i believe it is a genuine EC strat.
