Fender and gibson pickups?

Hey guys,

Recently thought of getting new pickups, hopefully a new body as well. I'm considering a few options. Not sure if their too good. Feel free to comment or give your recommendations.

1)Fender Enforcers (heard their very versatile)
2)Gibson Dirty Fingers (Has a nice tone to it)
3)Seymour Duncan Invaders (Lots of people have it)
4)Telecaster STHR-1 (Saw this at Davis site)

Actually looking for mostly hums, a hard rock tone and one that gives a nice bluesy kind of sound. Open to any options. Heard EMGs are pretty good..
 
nah emgs are too harsh for rock tones i feel. well most of the emg pickups at least.
and bluesy tones all your pickups mentioned wont give you what you want.

well 1st.. my advice. start tweaking your amp. or get a good amp 1st.

then look at your guitar.

but just for the records here try the JBs and jazz.
its pretty common combination amongst many guitarist.
cause its a good combination.
 
^ I Like the JB, they have very nice thick rock tones, suitable for blues and rock got one installed in my bridge

JB is a very common pup and a fav for many. however there are many ppl who dislike it too because of its characteristics of the high-mid spike.

but for blusey tones, in a LP with 300k pots, it would do fine.

burst bucker pros really rock.

They came stock with my LP and no way im swapping them out for anything.
 
i'd say dont change the pups until your tone is really not what youre looking for.

your choice of hard rock + blues is pretty much like mine.

im doing a custom custom bridge and a pearly gates neck.
 
I'm using my first guitar, a Washburn 248. Its really not that fantastic. Stock pickups.

My amp is a Marshall AVT 40 watt. The amp is my favorite, bought it at Davis for $460. Really good. Use it with my Boss Metal Zone MT-2. Have other pedals but not in regular usage.

Thought of changing pickups, want a customized guitar but the cost would be too expensive i suppose. Anyone can tell me wats JBs? A bit new sorry...And wat kind of tones does the pickup i suggested give? I'm quite interested.Actually for a tone that gives a good metal sound, more metal then rock actually. But i want one that gives a good blues tone too.
 
actually. get rid of your metalzone first. it gives nothign near rock or blues or metal. it just gives shit.

eh midnight, so you want something good for metal, blues and rock?

eh metal zone can do blues man. tested and proven. but of course u gotta tweak the settings a fair bit along with the amp as well.

as for pickups, if u can give us more detail about ur guitar and what kinda tone u wanna nail, that would help us alot in narrowing down the recommendations.
 
toatally agreed..metalzone is good,provided if u noe hw to tweak it..
btw,u mite wana reconsider dirty fingers...cos it really sux in a strat...it sounds really bad...imo its too low...i tink its best in lps n hollw bodies...invader is really good!but for punk n hard rock..if u wan blues i tink alinco pro 2 i kinda good...
 
yeah you need a lespaul.
lespaul can nail any genres pretty well.
i'd agree with razrash. metal zone gives you shit.

or get it modded my randolf. its a pretty good mod.
you can search 'embryo' to pm him.
 
yup slash uses alcino2s. and stacks up ds1s in his chain.

but his tone comes from his amps.
having alcino2s wont get you any where near slash's tone.

you should just buy and try. if you dont like it sell away buy another.
cause one man's view of rock sounds can be different from another.

so yeah we can only recommend what do we think is right.
but ultimately its your guitar and your tone.
you have to make the choice.
 
Oh..Thanks alot guys. Appreciate all your input. I am looking something like the slash type of sound. One pickup with a very nice blues/soloing tone.

I also want one with a nice metal drive to it. Something that you can play metallica or john5 on. You know. I was considering buying a Epi LP studio goth. wat you guys think? Something with a good metal tone.

The studio goth comes in alnico pickups, not too sure if those are good. SD invaders any good? Wat about the Tele STHR-1?

So if metalzones arent good then what pedals can give me that nice metal crunch? I am also condering buying a Boss acoustic stimulator? Is that any good?
