Fast Fret

i've been using a oil stick called Fast Fret to maintain my guitar strings and make them much smoother, but does it do any damage to the fretboard?

i'm using a maplewood neck btw

No it wont cause damage, but i'd suggest not to use it on your fretboard too often.
it could causes your fretboard to be sticky.
Just wipe your fretboard & guitar everytime after you play (which is probably the best thing to do)

Just apply it firmly on your fretboard once in awhile. It should be fine.
Also, never use lemon oil on maplewood fretboard.

what i usually do with FastFret is just apply it on my strings(not fretboard) after i play.
i don't apply it BEFORE i play because it feels too slippery for me to bend & slide.

Here is an article which you should read
