Formerly known as the Lîla Drums Djembe Project, our group of 6 are taking on a new identity with "FANKA FELLAS".
"FANKA" means strength or energetic in the language of Malinke, a major ethnic group in West Africa who created the djembe.
We have been performing traditional African drumming for sometime and we want to create our own voice with it. Mixing true knowledge of African drumming with the musical taste of 6 true blue Singaporean percussionists growing up in the Y generation years. A new musical era will unfold....
