Epiphone Les Paul?

Hi folks,

I'm considering an Epiphone Les Paul. Probably a Custom or Standard. Those ebony plain-top with white pickguard.

However, I'm not too sure about how the guitar performs. My budget is around $600. All I'm looking for is an axe with a solid tone and heavy crunch sounds and most importantly a fixed bridge.

Hope that you guys can help me out with reviews on these models (pros and cons etc etc). Also include the best possible price available. Thanks!

P.S. Please don't recommend me stuff like Gibsons or Edwards. However tempting those are, they're way out of my budget. Haha

woa tt's ex..got anything special about tt classic?if the only gd thing is the MIK thing then maybe i can sell high price too mine..also MIk..inclusive of hardcase..juz tt the MIK sticker is no longer ther..dunno wat happened..feels similar to a MIK unit at swee lee tho..

$600?tt's juz enough to get an epiphone les paul right?but only standard n classic..customs cost more no?

apart from swee lee luther also brings in epiphone les pauls..

the prices are on the swee lee site..juz tt it isnt inclusive of gst if im nt wrong..custom shud cost ard 800?ard there..well..u cud always go down the "used" path..u might find something worth buying.

yea, i was so happening to try out a epi LP standard at swee lee if I am not wrong, in the first place i was testing out some new picks and just randomly picked up a guitar from the rack, was so engrossed in playing it that I forgot all about my main agenda... The sound of the eip LPs are really good, even when clean, it really delivers a solid and bright tone.

i own am Epi Lp std personally... tot its gd but found out pups r not gd... Finish n Qc bad... Dunno bout Epi Lp Custom thou.. but i am attracted 2 a few epi LP model coz it spot Gibson Burstbuckers... But still have not tried em out.. But words ard r MIC epi lp not really gd.. But da riview session got da Bob marley Epi recommended by our bro Sub... U shud check it out...

Well Epi is a popular choice among pple as a cheaper Lp version but if its gd is all to da hands n ears of da beholder...

ya.. epiphone les paul are good., just need upgrade of pickups.
std les paul $600 can get liao lah, with bag some more.

apart from pickups, i experience probs with the electronics..some say this is common among epiphone les pauls..but apart from tt the finish n etc is friggin superb..
