Soundclips:
http://www.rocksolidamps.com/sounds.php

they sell other amps like splawn and framus too. but the ENGL clips are really worth a listen. but then again, the guy's playing it with some top quality gear anyhows...

cheers

hehe. you must have saved a bit to be saying they're not expensive.

remember to ask for 240V transformer and stuff. If you just happen to forget it, that's going to hurt.

Cheers

see how la. wait for the guy reply. hopefully all in will be within budget still. if not there's still the V3...:)

ah also thinking of touching the progress money. :) but for a cheaper, head only.

PMed you the link.

sorry, but i have enquired with Derek from rocksolidamps before. He dosent ship outside the states. A pity because his prices are really reasonable. You can try contacting ENGL directly instead. Since they are european based, the power should be ok

i wrote to the agent in germany before but no reply..
oh..well...
btw fibredrive if u have some info pls share :)
im interested in the powerball and the cabs..

Yeah that site has been there for a while and i can help out.

There's a dealer in melbourne that ships out Engl heads and cabs. Billy Hyde Music Flemington, Melbourne .... +61 03-9376-1344. Ask for this dude named Les....its better if you get it from them as the voltage has been set to S'pore standards and they have a waranty for up to a year. If you purchase from O/S, you don't have any warranty and the transformer will not be suitable for S'pore voltage fluctuation, also it won't be covered by Australian Standards "C-Tick" compliance.

I've tried the powerball, its pretty versatile. If you're keen on getting the savage 120 its priced at AUS$4599 inc GST. The powerball is priced slightly cheaper than that....just ask for a discount man...
Not too bad for a good quality tube amp head. Nice amounts of gain there man!!! I just love the savage man.

Have you tried going to www.engl-amps.com
you can view more of their products there.

You can also check out framus amp heads, they're not too bad. There is a shop in Perth that ships those heads too and i can get great prices for em. The price is also rather reasonable and not as highly priced as the Engl heads. If you like high gained stuff, maybe try listening to the cobra clips, the dragon is pretty versatile too.

Gimmie a pm if u need more help.

See ya.

hey all, i haven't heard from derek yet but sounds like he won't be shipping here.

on a side note, i actually got a reply from the dude in germany at Diezel Amps. he actually asked me if i was interested to be the distributor for singapore... :) politely declined...

hi skidzo, thks for the tips and help! really appreciate it. do they have shops in perth which sell engl? i got relatives there might ask them to bring it back next trip...! always thought electronic stuff in australia were a little over priced, but this link u gave sounds pretty reasonable. will check it out!

i wrote to ENGL too but no reply yet. so far Diezel amp prices are too far away for me. ENGL is ok if Derek's prices are anything to go by. will see.

Honestly, yeah stuff sold in Australia is overpriced. Its due to the shipping and taxes, but I'd say its worth it. Especially to get stuff like Engl's and framus amps. You even get the the voltage tweaking covered by Australian Standards "C-Tick" compliance and provide a warranty for you. If you order from overseas the shipping and other charges would probably come up to the same price as u bought it in Melbourne and some don't come with warranties.

Well there was a shop that used to bring in Engl heads but stopped recently due to low demand. The only Engl products left there are 2 2x12 and their footswitch. They're currently bringing in Framus heads and cabs. If u are interested in Framus heads, then ask ur relatives to pop in Mega Music.

Here's the link for the australian distributor for Engl products.

If you email to em, they'll tell u that they're only distributing it and can't sell em to you. They'll probably forward your email to the shop in Melbourne. Well you can email them about prices and shipping info. Look for Micheal, he'll help you out.

well good luck amp hunting...

i tried a powerball yesterday, dialed it in in like 10 seconds and it was literally the best metal tone i've ever heard in my life. billy hyde's has it for $3499 list price if i remember correctly.

Another alternative is also in germany.

They do ship worlwide.Diezel, mesa, framus, vht, engl, marshall etc...They also auction the engl amps at ebay.

Also this cyberstore take in engl amps also.I believe they accept bank transfer only outside EU.
