Edrums question

Hey, I just have a question about electronic drumsets...

I'm a total beginner who wants to get an electronic drumset to practice on at home, the thing is, my parents are rather wary of getting me one because my house is rather small. Can anyone tell me about how much space they would take up?

Also, can they be dismantled or folded or something? Cause another thing is that I might be going overseas to study in 2 years time, so I would also like to know if it would be possible to bring it there.

Yep. Thanks very much.

They take up almost as much space as an acoustic drum kit. A little smaller though, because it doesn't have a full sized kickdrum. But that's about it.

It's easy to fold up the rack and keep it aside. However, I don't think it's convenient for you to bring it overseas because of the size of the mounting rack. Unless you ship it over or something, which will cost you quite a bit due to the size and weight of the rack.

when my roland td-3kw was being delivered to me, it was quite small ? .. i mean the way they pack it in all the boxes. the whole edrum set is quite light but i am not sure if they allowed it on plane or u might have to ship it over like wat mel80 said. maybe you could try checking out the different brands and see which one enables u to do that :D

If you wan to go overseas to study, why dont you just buy some practise pads from de local stores or take them along with you from singapore? This way it would be cheaper and less troublesome. And even if you wan to go have a 'feel' of a drumset once in a while dere, you could find some frens over there and just go to the local jamming studios once in a while. ;) And if you are going to stay dere for lets say 5 to 8 years, you can find a second hand drumset dere locally and sell it away when you decide to come bak to this beautiful island.
