East Side Guitar Lessons

Brandon Hon

Hello everyone!

Just a short introduction before I get to the main gist. My name's Brandon Hon. I've been playing the guitar for about 5 years plus, coming to 6 years. I'm looking to teach so as to not only help people pick up/improve at guitar but also to improve myself as a musician. I believe the process of learning is never-ending and therefore people should never decide that it's too late or it's too difficult to pick up or improve themselves (be it at guitar or any other skill for the matter). Who knows, I might even be able to pick up some stuff from the people I'm learning from, as I mentioned earlier, learning is eternal.

The lessons will be objective-based, that being said, I will ask you what you're aiming for, be it a musician who wants to perform live, just sing and play for leisure or someone who wants to write his/her own songs etc. And after that we will work together towards your goals. The lessons I teach you will involve the understanding of the guitar as an instrument, good practice habits, chords, how to play the guitar and sing and proper form when playing to name a few. As for practice routines, I urge my students to practice as much as they can at home (while not over-stressing their own body which may lead to injuries), this is so we can spend the lesson time going through new material instead of spending time re-learning what we went through the week before. If students have any questions with regards to technique or practice during the week, feel free to drop me an SMS and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

The lessons will be held at my place in Siglap. And I'll be teaching both electric and acoustic guitar. And as mentioned earlier I will go through all sorts of techniques such as:
- Strumming Patterns
- Timing
- Chords
- Co-ordination between both hands
- Proper picking techniques
- Basic Music Theory
- How to read notes and guitar tablature
- Good practice habits
- Basic Improvisation
- Simple Plucking Patterns

Rates: $30/hour for electric guitar and $25/hour for acoustic guitar.

Do feel free to contact me at 91715125 for enquiries.
