Yamaha ever organise drum competition for Top-Drummers...meaning so can Swee Lee or other Music Stores.

Maybe Soft can work with these companies (as there is many drummers here) to come up with competition like these...

drum comp.... drummers would be judged on groove, ideas, technique, showmanship...etc

to start one here it is not impossible..but very hard, simply bcos the community is too small

insentive..? i.e. endorsements.. drum sets? vouchers..? what are ine insentives..?

also one thing to remember in mind and message to deliver.. drums is not a competion.. it is about groove and complementing the song.. unless it is progressive..even then..drums still play hand in hand with the music..

You are right. But I also believe...Competition can be made 'Healthy" too depending on how ones view it.

There were indeed drums-competition ever held in Singapore before (I can't remember - but something like "Young Drummers Of the Year" or what...by Yamaha..where Edmond Branson (now deceased) won the Award....so did Jimmy Lee took part in that very competition during that time.

Apart from this sort of competition..there is also the WFD...of course many drummers had different viewpoint on this sort of competition....


PS: Talking about WFD - if it comes to Singapore - hahahaha...I treally want to know who is the Fastest-Hand here....cheers ! :lol:
