After listening to demos reading some reviews etc, I've narrowed down to boss dr-880 and alesis sr-18. Sound and feature-wise these 2 are great. Boss being quite pricey since it also has a guitar processor inside which I don't really need. I'm leaning more towards alesis but I don't mind getting other brand/models if they are as good as these. I didn't do much research so might missed out on the others. Any recommendations? My budget is around $500 and my style is rock/metal so those sampling/dance beat type is out.
