Drrrrrz sound when strings unplayed with amp distortion on

How do i get rid of it? kinda annoying

some possibilities:
1) ur amp isn't grounded properly
2) there's too many electrical appliances switched on in front of ur guitar
3) u're using a single coil pickup

I Guess its the 2nd one..cuz my com router fan are all on!

Btw...wad is amp not grounded?

It means that your amp has a two pin plug, not a three pin plug.

grounding problems also can occur if the house/room itself has electrical grounding issues. even mini-electrocution (from your music instrument)

amps made in america would have only a 2 pin plug with a pin jack hole cos american power sources have an earthed pin which would enter that hole when u plug it in. so if ur amp's made in america or has just a 2 pin plug, its not grounded/earthed.

in which case just change it to a 3pin plug since there is an earth wire there. but if it is the 2nd prob then just lower the gain and mute the strings. it will reduce hum but not totally =/
