GoLive is basically Adobe's version of Dreamweaver.

So Dreamweaver is mainstream mah... Light side lo... hehe... GoLive Dark side.

when do u need ur website up? i can consider only if it doesn't mess with my school (which is getting bad to worse nowadays)

my tutor told me that adobe has been bought over by macromedia . soon they gonna merge the softwares together. argh dammit...

it is -somewhat- like dreamweaver. not very sure why u would need a specific platform for designing.

btw that's my module project... hehe... still doing.

ur tutor has got it wrong actually... Macromedia is bought over by Adobe. some software are definitely going to be merged as they compliment each other, while some are going to be discontinued as they overlap each company's portfolio. chances are GoLive (adobe), Freehand and Fireworks (both macromedia) might be discontunued. just hope that the design community (illustrators, graphic and web designers) don't suffer because there is "no real competition" as the "big guns" are having a big share of the pie.
