Hello friends, I've been working on a new project for about a couple of weeks or so now. I have a lot of ideas which have yet to be set down, but I realise that before I delve deeper into them I'm gonna need a vocalist to help me out, especially on the 'downtempo' part of my project.
To get an idea of what I'm going about, I've uploaded a sample demo for your listening pleasure.

Note that this is basically a rough demo to project my ideas for the time being. There's a lot more stuff that needs to be done, lots of instrument layering to be added, vsts to be tweaked, effects to be added, breaks to be programmed, stuff to be sampled, field recordings to be made...etc. I haven't begun recording anything yet - these are all done on a normal PC with no audio equipment.
Basically I'm gonna need vocals for the first part or the downtempo-ish portion of the song, which is about the first 3 minutes. After that, things start to get a bit blurry.
If you dig stuff like portishead, Massive Attack, Aphex twin, Venetian Snares and so on, and actually know what IDM means or what an amen break is, then I want you on my team! if you like what you hear on the sample above and would like to lend your voice to me, then please contact me!
Requirements
- open-minded about music in general
- likes to sing
- have recording gear/basic knowledge of home recording. I don't have a condenser or a good vocal mic right now so it would certainly help if you have access to one!
- can write lyrics and figure out how to sing them in your head.
- preferably female, since what I have in my head for now would require a female vocalist. but I don't mind if you're a guy and wants to give it a shot!
This will mostly be an online sort of collaboration for now. If you're cool with that or want more info/clarification, please pm me on here or email me at khidir at gmail.com
Sorry if this seems more like an ad for vocals rather than a platform for criticism. Any and all critiques are welcome. Thanks
