Hey all! Just asking out of curiosity! Has anyone tried, bought and used any of the DiMarzio Pre-wired Pickguards for Strats?

http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/pre-wired

Eg. Injector™ Strat® Replacement Pickguard or Billy Corgan Strat® Replacement Pickguard

Kind of interested in getting one if it for my Strats (a beatup SX Stratcopy from the Infamous Noob pack) to play about in the Future.

If yes, where did you buy from? and How much does it cost?

Cheers!

agree... non-Fender guitars do not always accommodate Fender accessories/ spares. please check your guitar to make sure.

Uh True that about the fitting. I'll look in to that next time.

I'm just trying to get some feedback about these Pre-Wired Pickguard. If they are any good, are they working fine? And plus where to buy and how much?

Just being the Inquisitive me!

You should check with Swee Lee since they are the distributor.

I'm just guessing but that pickguard itself could easily cost more than $400 considering the individual prices for the pickups, pickguard, pots, caps, knobs, pickup selector switch & wiring.

You could get the parts individually cheaper depending on brand. Dimarzio all the way might be good but pretty costly.

Oh ya! That too! True that! Open to more opinions! Hahaha! Still planning how to Freak Modify and play with my beat up SX Strat Copy making it a freak rock machine! HAHAHA

Don't have to jump straight on the Dimarzio bandwagon. check out other cheaper pickups which are not exactly worse compared Dimarzios. check out sound clips or youtube videos to get more reference. also if you need help with that can always ask the people here for opinions.

SX guitars are good. I like the wood tone.

didn't see any such pickguards @ swee lee... but EMG's ST-11 model is available @ Davis...

Oh! Thanks Sub!

I decided to separately modify my SX and test out different Pick up setting as suggested by relinquish69.

Plus I found some interesting Modification that could be done to the Strat to make it more Awesome and more fun to play!

Thanks for the input guys!

(I'll working on the Modifications After my A levels 2012 and during my NS i hope? When i have a little bit of cash)

I wouldn't get it if I were you. Might not be the kind of sound your looking for and I don't think it's advisable to spend so much on a cheap guitar. You might want to experiment with this line of pickups called Toneriders, they are super cheap and they sound great. Here's the website where you can check out the sound clips of the various pickup models; www.tonerider.com

You should just probably head down to some of the shops in Peninsula where they have cheaper parts; Guitar Connection would be one that comes to mind. Ultimately, you would totally be bummed if you spent $400 plus or whatever on a pre-wired pickguard and it sounds bad. At least if you spend on cheap parts, the pinch won't be that bad if anything doesn't go you way.
