Hi guys, as stated above,

what is the difference between an Epiphone les paul Standard and studio, and which is better in your opinions. DO reply and help out guys!!

it used to be only cosmetic, the pre-2006 models, the studio was the same as the standard, with the exception of the binding on the body

this year, new differences between the 2 is that the newer les paul studios are now bolt-on compared to the set-neck standards, and if i'm not wrong the studio sports a dot inlay compared to the old trapezoid inlays

tonal wise, ask the guitar guru subversion, i'm not really a fan of les pauls

thanks rozario, body wise i think they look similar lest for the pickguard, some standards lack the pickguard. What about fret boards? are they more durable>

not too sure bout epiphones... but in terms of gibsons usually the standard is a higher end than the studio, and the pickups are different between a GIBSON les paul studio and standard

u might wanna go check the epi website regarding this questions, cuz the oni dif between the two guits u mentioned that i remember is the fretboard inlays haha

for any guitar, you basically gotta go down to the store to check them out

fretboards for both are rosewood, should be the same kinda stuff

pickups wise, both use stock epiphone pickups

by right, both should come with a pickguard, and you can remove it if you want to

and finally, you just gotta go down to the store and check it out, from what i've seen no 2 guitars are ever the same, i've played some really crappy epiphones, and some really nice epiphones, so check it out yourself

i dont think the epi LP studio is bolt-on for 2006.
i saw one recently, set-neck.

another diff is the studio has open coil humbuckers.

also note now epi LP standard comes only in ebony/black.
the sunburst model is called a LP standard plain top or plus top.

difference is the quality of the maple top, the thickness of the body, the pickups and of course the binding of which the studio doesnt have.

he's asking bout the epis haha, yea but same idea go to http://epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=&CollectionID=6
and check de dif haha, well if ur too lazy, ive checked

and the only dif i spotted is the inlays, and that the les paul standard has a maple top, the studio is a mahagony/alder top... so if ur not too concerned bout cosmetics might as well go for the studio IMO
