Difference between Gibson Les Paul Studio and Gibson Les Paul Special

Yo SOFTies.I have a big question and it is "What IS the difference between Gibson Les Paul Studio and Gibson Les Paul Special?"


Which one should i buy?

I have these two deals and i find it really hard to pick between the two.Help anyone? D:

special has a flat top as opposed to a carved top of the studio.

the special has p90s as opposed to the humbuckers on the studio.

these are the 2 main differences. they are quite different actually. if u're looking at them because of the brand, well, i dont think those differences will matter.

Depends on what kinda style you're keen on.If i were to assume then the studio is generally what people would get to play the general type of music.

How different are the pickups?

a carved top is how the top of a normal les paul like the standard has. flat top means the body is completely flat, like that of a strat. tonal differences i have no idea.

p90 is a single coil pickup. a humbucker is a humbucker. u can go google up the differences. its easier than me typing out everything.

If i were you id go for the special but the studio can cover various range of style having it being a humbucker.Assuming you're not looking to mod it.

its your responsibilty to do research on your own and find out which guitar will suit you better. its your money and you dont want other people making that decision for you.
